New padel courts to strengthen the facilities for EUC Padel 2027

Universidad Camilo José Cela continues to improve its sports facilities in preparation for the European Universities Padel Championship 2027, which will take place from 17 to 21 July 2027.

As part of this development, three new covered padel courts were added during the summer of 2026, with a fourth court scheduled to be added in early 2027. In addition, a few months before the event, a temporary padel court will be installed inside the University's indoor tennis court, which will serve as the main show court for the championship.

This expansion will improve both competition and training conditions while providing greater capacity to accommodate the championship schedule. The covered facilities will also help minimise the impact of weather conditions on the competition.

The improvement of the sports facilities forms part of the University's overall preparations to welcome the participating delegations and provide suitable conditions for a European-level university competition.

Beyond the championship itself, these new courts will also provide a lasting sporting legacy for UCJC and SEK Education Group, expanding opportunities for training, teaching and sports participation for students and athletes after the event.

Over the coming months, the University will continue working on both the sports facilities and the different support areas required for the successful organisation of the championship.
